The Godfather Movie T-Shirts

If you don’t know The Godfather then where have you been for the last 50 years?! Let me give you a quick rundown. The Godfather movies follow the trials and tribulations of the all-powerful Corleone family, led by the infamous Don Vito Corleone the legendary role played by Marlon Brando. The family is from Sicily in Italy and they come to New York City and fight a power struggle with other Mafia families. This movie series tells the story the family and their adventures in the world of organized crime.

The Godfather Movies

The first Godfather movie came out in 1972 and was based on the book by Mario Puzo. The movie shows us how Don Vito‘s son, Michael Corleone played by Al Pacino, gets pulled into the family business and becomes a powerful leader himself.

The second movie, released in 1974, takes us back in time and shows us how Vito Corleone became the leader of the family. We learn about his tough childhood in the homeland (Sicily) and how he grew up to be a respected and feared man. At the same time, we see Michael Corleone back in New York trying to expand the family’s influence while facing challenges and making difficult choices.

The third and final movie, which came out in 1990, shows us Michael as an older man trying to legitimize the family’s business but it’s never easy. However, he still faces threats and struggles to keep his family safe.

The Godfather movies were a huge success not only for the action, tension and guns but they also address some deep ethical morales. Throughout the movies, we see the characters dealing with loyalty, power, respect and the consequences of their actions – but in a gangster way. Overall, The Godfather movie trilogy is known for its captivating storylines, memorable (and very quotable) characters, and intense drama. They give us a glimpse into the dark and complex world of Italian mafia organized crime while exploring themes of family, honor, and the price of power. If you haven’t seen them, I suggest you do.
